Music: I Am Warm and Powerful by the S.S.L.Y.B.Y.
The British are still crazy about Sgt. Pepper's.
Some of the best Brit bands have been enlisted to re-do songs from the 1967 Beatles classic. The release date will be June 1, the same date as the original release.
Oasis, of course, is a gimmie. Word is out that the Killers, Travis, Razorlight, and current British chart-toppers the Kaiser Chiefs will be among those lending their talents. I know, i know, the Killers are not from the UK. But everybody knows they're the best Brit band from America, right?
Manning the boards will be ex-Beatles producer/engineer Geoff Emerick, who as most people don't know or SHOULD know, took over the helm for some time after Sir George Martin left the Beatles for fighting too much. Emerick and the bands will also be using the equipment that were used during the original recordings.
Speaking of soon-to-be-released albums, there's an article over at Rolling Stone.com you may want to check-out (there's also a jpeg of their current magazine cover that's pretty interesting). Me? I want these out now:
1. Favorite Worst Nightmare - Arctic Monkeys
2. Sky Blue Sky - Wilco
3. It Won't Be Soon Before Long - Maroon 5
4. Calling the World - Rooney
5. Carry On - Chris Cornell
6. Icky Stump - The White Stripes
7. Baby 81 - B.R.M.C.
8. What's The Time, Mr. Wolf - The Noisettes

Music: Invisible Sun by the Police
The Police, who leapt from the British punk scene to become one of the world’s biggest rock acts before breaking up in 1984, will reunite for a performance to kick off the 49th Grammy Awards on Feb. 11.
The scheduled performance by the band members, who last played together when they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2003, is likely to heighten speculation that the Police will soon mount a full tour. The group would join a growing list of reunited acts expected to perform this year, including Van Halen and Rage Against the Machine.
The Police — known for “Roxanne,” “Message in a Bottle” and other hits — have won five Grammy trophies, but have never performed on the annual telecast. The prime-time Sunday performance on CBS, televised live from the Staples Center in Los Angeles, would come 30 years after the release of the band’s first single, “Fall Out.” - www.nytimes.com
